With the 30th Pick the 49ers Select...

In a twist that caught most people off guard, the 49ers take A.J. Jenkins; a wide receiver from Illinois. He's measured in at 6'0" and 192 pounds. He ran a 4.39 40 yard dash and a 38.5 inch vertical jump.
Jenkins was a two-year starter at Illinois and has the speed to take the top off NFL defenses. He creates separation from the defender and has good has in securing the catch. He  is very fluid with his routes. Jenkins is not afraid to go across the middle and always reaches out to catch the ball. Sometime he will take some plays off.
Last year he had 90 receptions for 1,276 yards and 8 touchdowns. This pick has people scratching their heads because Jenkins was rated as a second round talent. There were several wide receivers rated higher than Jenkins but Harbaugh went left field on everyone.

Spin: Just keep in mind that Aldon Smith was also an against the grain pick and look how that turned out so far. We will just have to wait and see if the 49ers pulled a fast one on the league or if they reached somewhat.
