Jets Moving RB Joe McKnight To Cornerback

Joe McKnight will get to see the field more – just not at running back.

Rex Ryan said Wednesday that the Jets’ third-year player will see “a ton” of time at cornerback in light of losing All Pro defensive back Darrelle Revis (torn ACL) for the season.

As far as his defensive work, McKnight has played some scout team at corner for the Jets and also played the position in high school.

His premiere on defense in the NFL could start Sunday, when the Jets take on the San Francisco 49ers.

“Hey, they can go ahead and do it,” McKnight said. “I’m ready for it. If they want to come throw to my side, I can easily show them I can play.”

Be careful what you ask for Mr. McKnight, the 49ers will be sure to give it to you. I even imagine Coach Harbaugh is putting a couple extra plays in the game plan just for you.

The 49ers take on the Jets live from New Jersey on Sunday at 10 am(49er time).
