WR Jenkins, RB James active; WR Manningham, RB Jacobs will sit today

As expected, the 49ers’ top draft picks, wide receiver A. J. Jenkins and running back LaMichael James, will be active today against the Dolphins at Candlestick Park.

In another move that doesn’t come as a surprise, wide receiver Mario Manningham (shoulder) is inactive after he failed to practice this week. Manningham was listed as doubtful on the injury report.

With Manningham out, the 49ers will dress four wideouts: Michael Crabtree, Randy Moss, Ted Ginn and Jenkins. Ginn has two catches for one yard this season while Jenkins, who was active for two previous games, has yet to play a snap.

With James active for the first time in his career, running back Brandon Jacobs is inactive. San Francisco’s other inactives include quarterback Scott Tolzien, safety Trenton Robinson, guard Joe Looney, nose tackle Ian Williams and running back Jewel Hampton.
