Aldon Smith: Eventually you will overcome your immediate problems

Before Monday night, 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith’s last tweet was sent on April 13.

That was the same day that Smith was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport and it was the last time we heard anything from Smith publicly. The silent treatment has come to an end. Smith returned to Twitter on Monday with a message referencing the run of legal troubles that has left him at risk of being suspended for a portion of the 2014 season.

“Stay positive and always give your best effort, eventually you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are ready for greater tests,” Smith wrote.

The Los Angeles County Attorney is considering whether to bring charges against Smith after he was arrested for saying he had a bomb in the airport. He also has a court date scheduled next week on felony gun charges that have combined with the airport arrest to make a murky future for Smith. The 49ers exercised Smith’s 2015 option last week, although it is guaranteed against injury only so they could still part ways with him if there are further legal difficulties.
