Report: Jets, Raiders are expected to inquire about Harbaugh

In the immediate aftermath of Thursday night’s 19-3 home loss to the Seahawks, there seemed to be an outside chance that the simmering dysfunction in San Francisco would hit full boil before the end of the season.

Three days later, it appears that nothing will change until the season ends.  At that point, plenty could change.

Adam Schefter of ESPN and Jay Glazer of FOX  both report that Jim Harbaugh’s status will be determined after the season, and that if he goes it will happen via trade.  Per Schefter, the Jets and Raiders are believed to be interested in swinging a trade for the coach who has one year left on his contract.

Schefter also says there’s a chance that Harbaugh will get a new contract in San Francisco. If Harbaugh turns the season around and takes the 49ers to the postseason, that would surely help that happen.
